Welcome to AJ's

AJ’s Food was formed and developed by us, Matthew and Andrea Walwyn, two highly experienced professionals who share a passion for great, honest food. Having savoured success in the Food Manufacturing and Catering Industries, we began to become disillusioned with the quality and range of products available in the food industry. With too much emphasis being placed on reducing costs, and not enough on the quality of food, we felt it was time to take a stand and swapped our corporate careers for a quality rural career.

AJ’s was born from our passion of great honest food.

AJ’s is quite simply a catering business - we provide great honest food through catering contracts, concessions in venues such as health clubs, galleries, theatres, shops, the work place and we hope one day on the high street. But we are more than that, we are a way of life that lots of people wish for and pretend to deliver. Our people work hard and are genuinely part of the AJ’s family, the food we deliver does come from local producers and suppliers and we really do know them by first names. Catering companies aim to deliver, but their size and inexperience means they fall short – we promise and we deliver.

Hayley's Bakes

image

Hayley left school knowing that she wanted to pursue a career in food and drink, but not knowing where to start. As a farmers’ daughter, good food has always been prominent in her life and she cares deeply about rural and countryside issues.

When we met Hayley, it became clear that we share the same passion for fantastic, locally sourced produce and when we offered her the chance to join AJ’s as an apprentice, she jumped at it.

Now, we work closely with Harrogate College to give Hayley the best start she can in the food and drink industry. She has been busy baking and cooking superb produce for our shop, whilst putting together recipe files and kitchen administration for AJ’s.

She has been a fantastic addition to our team and we look forward to her developing as we develop as a company.
